The Festival of Pride
was just visiting the bank of Trinsic, as I heard
the hoarse vices of the town criers shout:
"Hear ye! Hear ye! The Festival of Pride is a chance to brag of thy conquests and adventures! The Festival of Pride is beginning in Magincia. Come boast of thy deeds!"
That sounded like an event which was typical for
Magnicia, so I decided to visit the festival to deepen my knowledge about the Magnician
way of living.
As I arrived I met Seer Amber again, who was moderating the contest. Many people had
gathered to boast of their deeds, their knowledge, their skills and their greatness.
Everybody was encouraged to tell the others why he was the best, and it was funny watching
the best and the wisest quarreling. The Magnicians seem to have embraced pride as a
virtue, for they made a good job in boasting, never giving up even if they had already
lost the contest.
