For Whom the Bell Tolls

KugelBlitz and me, McBykar, were hunting for water elementals today. That was a good opportunity to increase my archery skill and make some money. The contents of my bank box were very low, and I needed money for some reagents.
KugelBlitz invited me on his ship, and we were sailing across the seas. We came across some elementals and attacked them. KugelBlitz was specialized on close combat and I sent some arrows to the monster.
Soon we improved our tactics in fighting the elementals, and they didn't have a chance against us. After a short fight they exploded into a large cloud of steam.
We looted about 140 goldpieces from every elemental, and also a diamond every now and then.
After 2 hours we had about 1200 gold pieces and headed back to Trinsic. After this event I visited Mad Biker, who was lying in his bed.
Mad Biker told me about his last adventures. His face was pale, his eyes were sad.
"McBykar," he said in a low voice "sit down beside my bed and listen to me for a while!"
He then started to narrate of his last adventures.
"You know," he told me "I am now a very experienced fighter, but the evil in this world is still so strong that I don't see any possibility for me, to fight it efficiently.
I wanted to visit Deceit yesterday to earn some goods for you, as I noticed the sound of battle near the dungeon entrance. I saw a bunch of murderers attacking a half-dead warrior, who never had a chance.
I decided to run and hide at the nearby cave, for trying to help would have been like suicide. Then I watched the killers for quite some time, and what I saw really made me sad.
The evil in this world has become mighty and strong. I watched one brave knight after another fall to this scum, all helpless and not with the slightest chance to succeed. I asked myself, what this world has become, and how anyone would ever be able to stop this madness. I don't have the power, for the sinister and black magic of the evil was stronger than all I ever had seen.
Finally I left this place without having set a foot into the dungeon.
Then I went with my friend KugelBlitz to the hardest dungeon in Britannia: Hythloth. Murderers are seen there seldom, so the adventure promised to be a success.
But what had happened to the monsters? Poison and magic everywhere. Aggressive and poisonous serpents, hidden hellhounds, tribes of gargoyles. A lot of times I was near death, and only survived because of the help of my companions.
You know McBykar, this world has become a place where I don't feel at home anymore. Still the venom aches my body and the evil darkens my mind. The time has come to say goodbye!"
Mad Biker had spoken the last words with a weak voice. Once more he gripped my hand and said: "Honor mine goals and follow the path of the virtues! Prethee McBykar, never give up thy hope, like I never gave up walking a straight also honest path in this world. Remember, the most worthy treasure in this world is a reliable companion and someone who helps you without asking. The evil has broken me, but it will make thee strong. Thou hast learned a lot, McBykar. Now go out and use your knowledge to make Britannia a better world! May the Gods of Britannia guide thee on thine ways..."
His eyes looked at me intensely, but weak, then they shut and the grip of his hand weakened.
