Searching for a home

ad Biker had
taught me, McBykar, many
important things I had to learn in order to survive in the wilderness. One day he left
Trinsic and said he wanted to go out and find a nice place for a home. The
prices for little houses had increased already from 11,000 gold pieces to
22,000. That was a lot of money, but Mad Biker would soon have that much
gold in his bank box. |
He was wandering through the northern forests, as he finally found a beautiful beach. A perfect place this would be! A friend, Sam, lived near this place and invited him for a bottle of ale and a small talk. Strange neighbors seemed to live here...
| As he returned, he said to me that he had found the place finally, and there would be one more thing for me to do: This time he would give me a rune and a mark scroll and I would search this place all by myself. I had to wander through the wilderness alone, face the dangers of Britannia without any help and mark a rune near our future home. Thanks to his good description I found the area soon. I stopped in a clearing admiring the beautiful flowers, as suddenly I heard strange noises from all directions. Suddenly two orcs and a mongbat broke through the bushes and attacked me. I tried to hide, but the Gods of Britannia had decided not to let me hide while fighting. Soon my crossbow bolts had almost been wasted and I hadn't killed any of the enemies. | ![]() |
I fled, but an orcish mage followed me and hit me with
many fireballs and other spells. That was the end. My first death! I was desperate, for I
had disappointed the confidence Mad Biker had put in me. Hastily I ran to the next shrine
to get resurrected. As I returned to the place, the monsters were still there, but I
managed to sneak up to the pile of my stuff still lying on the ground and hid well. I had
lost nothing! Feeling relieved I waited for the orcs to disappear, and then killed the
mongbat with a few shots. My next victim was an orc lord. The other orc had disappeared.
After about 10 tries the Mark spell finally worked and I recalled back to Trinsic.
