Hunting Alone

This day I had to leave Trinsic all by myself. My companions were resting in the Taverns of Trinsic and Yew, so I decided to go hunting without them. I knew it would be very risky to stride through the forests of Yew alone, but that was the best way to improve my skills and experience. I used the moongates again and finally I reached the dense woods of Yew. I was admiring the fabulous Yew Trees again, when suddenly I heard some grunting sound approaching fast. It was an Orc! It attacked me immediately and I fought the best I could. My health state was getting suddenly much worse, so I used the old tactics "hit, run and hide".

The hiding surprised the orc, and he was standing around not knowing how to cope with this situation, while I had the chance to rest. I had learned the hiding skill through my former tours through Britannia, and it was hard work. But now I knew what was the use of it. When I had eaten something and felt a little refreshed I attacked the orc again. It was a hard fight, and finally I won and looted the foul orcish corpse with pleasure!

The ogre I met at the north coast was much tougher than the orc. I had to hit him and walk away, hit and walk, and so on. After some time fighting this style The ogre was weakened and tried to escape. But - ha! - I followed him and thrust my steel between his ribs until he died with a moaning sigh. The loot was worthy, and this day I didn't have to split it up with my comrades. Packed with gold pieces and spoiled armor and weapons I headed back to the moongate to get back to the safe walls of Trinsic again.

My Second Death

Due to the success of my previous adventures I was able to buy some good armor like the Bone Armor, and I even did have the strength to wear it. My sword and my shield were good, and due to my tactics I hardly had to run away from most of the "medium" monsters.

One night in the forest, after having slain two orcs, I suddenly had to learn, that there were powers much mightier than I expected! You can wear the strongest armor and have the sharpest blade, but when the time vortex occurs in Britannia, you merely have a chance resisting the dangers of the wilderness. I felt good with all the gold and armor of the two orcs in my backpack, and decided to head towards the moongate of Yew. When suddenly I tracked a Harpy next to me. A Harpy was no big deal for me anymore, so I attacked it. And then it happened! A time vortex occurred just as I was swinging my sword at the creature and I was paralyzed.

I could not move or take influence in the situation in any way, so I had to watch how the Hydra was chopping me to pieces. With greyed vision I saw my corpse lying in the grass, and I knew I had to get to a healer as soon as possible to avoid my dead body being looted. Unfortunately I had to walk to the far Yew, as there was no healer around. I finally find the healer and got resurrected. At once I was running back to the place of my misfortune, which took me quite some time.
When I arrived there I was shocked! My corpse had been looted and the only things they left me was an empty backpack and my useless bedroll. I had to sit down, meditating about the fairness in this world and the selfishness of other hunters.

But I will not give up! One day I will get these looters and take revenge. But first I had to get back to Trinsic to buy some new armor and weapon. Fortunately I had my money left at the bank. It was not much, though, but it would be enough to go shopping.
