Hythloth - The Smell of Death

fter some exciting experiences, like
teleporting down to level 2 of Wrong and being surrounded by about 10 ettins and ogre
lords, slaying hundreds of skeletons and zombies in Deceit, and taking out an ogre camp
near the Shrine of Justice I had collected so many items, bone armors and scrolls that I
had to sell them in the town. My bank box was full, and I thought it would be a good time
to visit one of the hardest dungeons, a place where I never had been before: Hythloth! |

I met my friend KugelBlitz, who
accompanied me to the dungeon. I knew it might be too dangerous going there alone. We didn't try out this rune before, but it should recall us directly somewhere down into the dungeon. I wondered what would await us. |
| I hardly believed my eyes: Masses of hell hounds, demons, gargoyles and orcs attacked us! I just recovered from my shock, as suddenly I lost control of my senses. When I returned to consciousness the demon and hellhounds had just taken most of my life energy. I tried to flee, but it was too late. Again I watched the monsters feast upon my dead body through my greyed sight. Luckily KugelBlitz had been able to hide. He took all my belongings, and a friendly Warrior gated me back to town. KugelBlitz and I met there instantly, I re-equipped and we returned to Hythloth. | ![]() |

This dungeon would not defeat us! After that incident we had a great time! In some areas masses of orcs and hellhounds appeared at the same time, and many fighters pounced on them with swinging weapons. Without the reactive armor spell there hardly is a chance to survive! Alas there were too many fighters around, so we didn't get much of the prey. |

Everyone down here has magic abilities,
and from all corners one could hear words of power and the clashing of swords and axes. During the raging battle I noticed that my reagents were almost used up, so we decided to leave this deadly place and rest from the strain in Trinsic, our home town. |

My head ached as I sunk down on the tavern bed. My scarred armor, torn clothes and the blood stained weapons were piled up in a corner of the small room, and I fell asleep instantly...
