Travelogues Adventurer's Guide

The Ultima Online Travelogues contain hundreds of stories and screenshots of Ultima Online adventures starting in 1997 until today.
The Adventurer's Guide contains comprehensive information about geography, including maps, pictures and detailed descriptions.

News and Updates:

August 2008:
Several updates have been made to the Adventurer's Guide! Detailed maps with descriptions have been added to a number of dungeons (like Doom, Wisp Dungeon, Ankh Dungeon, Hythloth, Covetous etc). And, of course, the travelogues are continued.

July 2008:
The Royal Council has been assassinated! New events are happening in Britannia, things are getting more and more mysterious. Of course, everything will be reported in detail in the travelogue series of "Returning to Britannia"!

May 2008:
The Invasion of the Shadowlords is continuing! Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Everything I have experienced has been written down and documented thoroughly. Stay tuned!

The United Pirates continue to threaten landlubbers and fight a war against law and order. Guild wars are in full swing! The pirates are searching for new recruits to reinforce their already big crew.

Mar. 2008:
My travelogues are describing and illustrating the ongoing blackrock event in Moonglow! These chronicles start with the story Blackrock Detector Unveiled, and they will be regularly continued.

The United Pirates, the oldest pirate guild of Britannia, is regrouping on Catskills. The brethren of scoundrels is reuniting around Britannia's coastline, establishing a new authority of outcasts with ill repute. Law and order is challenged once again, while pirates, rogues and outlaws are roaming seas, roads and cities.

Feb. 2008:
Printable maps of Britannia, The Lost Lands, Ilshenar, Malas and Tokuno have been added to the Adventurer's Guide. These maps contain information about geography, dungeons, champion spawns, and other places of interest. They can be downloaded for free.
The online Tokuno map has been updated. It now shows screenshots of all places.

Jan. 2008:
The new features of the game (like new dungeons, landmasses and enhanced skills) are actually more fun than I would have expected. Especially skills like Ninjitsu, Chivalry, Necromancy, Spellweaving and others add to the diversity of characters and make fighting more exciting. The times of "attack, let the character bash, use a bandage every now and then" are over. Especially fighting dangerous creatures requires spontaneous creativity and coordination. Crafting skills have been enormously enhanced, which is a great improvement too. You can craft almost anything, but some "recipes" can only be acquired through more or less difficult quests. The possibility to customize a house are very very nice.
I'm happy to have re-joined the Ultima Online community. I guess I won't leave it again anytime soon. The travelogues will soon be continued with Kingdom Reborn screenshots. Stay tuned!

Dec. 2007:
A kind of nostalgia finally made me return to Britannia. It happened when I accidentally discovered some old UO screenshots on a backup CD. I suddenly wanted to explore Britannia and all the new landmasses again. I reactivated my account and found my characters were still available. That was a relief, because I doubt that I would have had the nerve to start all over again. However, the game had changed a lot during the past 6 years and I had to learn and re-learn a lot of things. My Ultima Online Travelogues are now continued. Read about my adventures in the book "Returning to Britannia". If you want to find your way in Britannia, the Lost Lands, Ilshenar, Malas or Tokuno, check out my comprehensive Adventurer's Guide, which will be constantly updated and enhanced.

This site is dedicated to all Ultima Online players who played this game during the early days. To players
who spent a lot of time exploring the world of Britannia. Who suffered from lag, exploits and game bugs,
and loved this extraordinary multiplayer game nevertheless. To players in search for unpredictable events
and adventures at the risk of losing virtual equipment and life. To good and evil players who made the
game experience as ambivalent and emotionally loaded as it was during the first years. To role players,
adventurers, hunters, murderers, crafters, looters and fighters.
